Brunei: Project Kaida - Redeveloping The Gurkha Museum UK

RAO Det, British Forces Brunei (BFB), have been raising funds for project KAIDA where all the BFB RAO Det members including AGC personnel assigned to BFB took a challenge to run 11 kms daily for consecutive 3 days achieving a total of 33 kms individually in hot and humid Brunei in order to commemorate AGC’s 33rd Anniversary. Project KAIDA, a redevelopment of Gurkha Museum, UK, is a chosen charity of RHQ GSPS this year and has been endorsed by the Comd GSPS saheb.

Project KAIDA is more than refitting a military museum; this redevelopment project will provide the opportunity to celebrate a unique and enduring cultural and historical legacy, and a military ethos respected across the world. The project will deliver a world-class visitor experience to the widest audience, both virtual and physical, by celebrating and explaining the contributions of Gurkhas to the UK, and to global peace and security.

The total project goal is £5.2 million which covers the stripping out and refitting the public galleries; transforming the library into a research and education centre; digitalisation of the archives; and an innovative outreach and engagement programme, out of which there is less than £500k to be raised and your support will help alleviate the complexity of preserving the history of our forefathers in the past, us at the present and for those who will join the Brigade of Gurkhas in the future.

Our media IC (Cpl Lenin Limbu) has done an excellent job by creating a just giving page where you can Donate to PROJECT KAIDA: REDEVELOPING THE GURKHA MUSEUM UK and be a part of this worthy cause. More information about Project KAIDA can be found here.
