Non-UK service represents a substantial contribution to Defence in the UK yet is often associated with challenges that British-born service personnel rarely encounter. These include visas and immigration regulations, overcoming career barriers and obstacles to progression, and navigating the cultural environment of the UK and its military. Our research explores each of these issues from the perspective of currently serving non-UK personnel, veterans, and their family members.
